POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
1. Applications will be accepted beginning late October, 2009. Due
to the limited number of tee times available at each event,
entries will be accepted on a first come basis.
2. All entries must be received 5 days prior to the event. Late
entries will be accepted at The Junior Tour's discretion.
3. At the request of certain courses, some tee times will
require a shotgun start.
4. Refunds will be granted only for extreme medical or family
emergencies.
5. Age division will be determined by player's age as of August
5, 2010, or the final day of the Tour Championship.
6. All players are required to walk for
the entire event. Players are allowed non-motorized pull carts.
7.Caddies are NOT ALLOWED and parents must
remain at least 50 feet from their child. Parents and spectators
are allowed to help find golf balls, but are prohibited from
giving advice.
8. A $50.00 service charge for all checks returned for
insufficient funds.
9. Players must play in at least four (5) events in order to be
eligible for The Junior Tour Championship. The Tour Championship
field will determined by points accumulated throughout the
season. The Top 12 in each division will be eligible to compete
in the Tour Championship on August 4-5, 2010.
10. Sterling Cut Glass trophies will be awarded at each event.
The number of trophies will be based on the number of entries in
each division.
11. An overall Player of the Year, for both boys and girls, will
be awarded based on overall performance, etiquette, and
sportsmanship.
12. A $500 scholarship (The Junior Tour Scholarship) will be
awarded to one boy and one girl to help further their education
(qualifications listed below).
Scholarship Details:
Awarded to one boy and one girl who have completed their junior
year of high school and have a letter of acceptance from an
accredited junior college, college, or university. The
recipients must be current participants (full or part time) of
The Junior Tour.
All candidates MUST meet the following requirements in order to
be considered for the scholarship:
1. Have won an official Junior Tour event.
2. Have played in at least five (5) events during the current
season.
3. Consistently exhibit proper etiquette and sportsmanship
throughout the season.
4. Submit an application.
5. Provide the Scholarship Committee with a 200 word essay on
why the game of golf and the Scholarship is of personal
importance.
6. The recipients of this scholarship will be evaluated and
chosen by The Junior Tour Scholarship committee.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The Junior Tour is very appreciative of the involvement of
players, parents, and host facilities. Out of respect of the
traditions of the game and for the spirit of competition, The
Junior Tour has established rules and guidelines for both its
participants and their families.
It is required of all participants to adhere to The Junior Tour
Code of Conduct while participating in any event:
1. Attire: A player's appearance during competition should be in
keeping with the traditions of the game. During play, collared
shirts or mocks must be worn and tucked in at all times. Girls
may wear sleeveless golf shirts. Tank tops, tee-shirts, short
shorts, denim shorts, and jeans are not acceptable.
2. The use of any substances (including alcohol, tobacco, and
illegal drugs) on or off the golf course will be considered a
serious breach of The Junior Tour's Code of Conduct, leading to
disqualification and/or suspension from The Junior Tour. Any
suspension or disqualifications will be at the The Junior Tour's
absolute discretion, and may not be challenged at any time.
A serious breach may also include, but is not limited to, the
following:
· Abusive or inappropriate language.
· Any behavior deemed to be disrespectful, including that shown
to fellow players, tournament officials, volunteers, or golf
course personnel.
· Throwing of clubs and/or violent behavior.
· Leaving the golf course without notification to a Tour
Official when withdrawing for any reason.
· Abuse of privileges, vandalism, or theft while the guest of a
host site.
3. Cell Phones: Players are not allowed to use cell phones
during competition, with competition meaning the time of being
called to the tee until the time of signing scorecards. All cell
phones and electronic devices must be turned off and placed
inside your golf bags. Breach of this rule is grounds for
immediate disqualification.
4. All events will be governed by USGA rules. Any
player not adhering to the USGA's Rules of Golf will be
immediately disqualified from the current event, and may face
future reprimanding including, but not limited to, future
suspensions and permanent disqualification from The Junior Tour,
loss of junior memberships and loss of playing/practicing
privileges at Piper Glen Golf Course, Lakeshore Golf Course, and Studio59
indoor learning center.
5. Riding in Golf Carts: STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
There will be instances where riding on a golf cart is
permitted, such as with a rules official or official's shuttles.
Any other allowable times MUST be conveyed by a rules official
on the first tee.
